West Region Self Advocacy is a network for local self-advocacy groups in Western Massachusetts to work together. Self-advocates meet 10 months of the year to share their experiences and work on projects. West Region is one of five regions in Massachusetts. Self-advocates in the west region are part of the statewide board, Massachusetts Advocates Standing Strong.
In order to meet the needs of the self-advocates in our region we developed a mission statement. Our mission is as follows:
“West Region Self Advocacy is a team of local self advocates working together to promote education, equal rights, responsibility and informed choice for people with disabilities to live full lives in the community.” (2014)
Members from WRSA recently selected a new logo to represent their region. The logo can be seen at the top of this page, as well as on the home page. Members chose this logo design because the hand is an established symbol of anything “self”– paired with a literal outline of the state of Massachusetts– it quickly defines who WRSA is.
